MOUNT PLEASANT, SC — Today Rear Admiral Nancy Lacore announced the endorsement of former Beaufort Mayor and former State Representative Billy Keyserling, adding another respected Lowcountry leader to the broad coalition supporting her campaign for Congress and strengthening her support in Beaufort County ahead of the June 23 Democratic Primary Runoff.
“Nancy is a proven leader, a patriot, and exactly the kind of fighter the Lowcountry needs in Washington.” said Keyserling. “She can win in November and will hold the Trump administration accountable while always putting the interests of our communities first.”
Lacore finished first in Tuesday’s Democratic Primary with a commanding lead over six other competitors on the ballot. Since polls closed on election day, she has picked up the endorsements of former primary opponent Francina Dantzler, Rep. Spencer Wetmore, and Rep. Leon Stavrinakis. The Charleston City Paper also doubled down on their endorsement of Lacore for the runoff. She is the only candidate left in this race with the ability to put together the resources and coalition necessary to flip this seat in November.

Lacore launched her campaign earlier this year and raised over $1 million within her first ten weeks on the trail. After 35 years of service in the United States Navy, a career beginning as a helicopter pilot and ending as a three-star Admiral and Chief of Navy Reserve, Lacore was removed from her post by Pete Hegseth with no explanation. She decided to continue her service to our country in Congress.
