Mount Pleasant, SC — Rear Admiral Nancy Lacore’s campaign today announced a new wave of endorsements from respected local leaders across South Carolina’s First Congressional District, including key voices from Charleston, Berkeley, and Beaufort counties ahead of the June 9 Democratic Primary.

The list of endorsements include:

  • Colleen Condon, Former Charleston County Council Member and Former Charleston County Democratic Party Chair

  • Randy Hughes, SC Democratic Party Executive Committeeman for Berkeley County

  • Lloyd “Fig” Newton, General, US Air Force (ret.)

  • Jimmy Story, Former U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela

  • Peter Tecklenburg, Charleston County Auditor

These endorsements follow the Charleston City Paper’s public recommendation of Lacore’s candidacy earlier this week. The publication praised Lacore as “the real deal” and “an impassioned leader who knows how Washington works and can use her impressive skills to push progress for the region.”

Lacore launched her campaign earlier this year and raised over $1 million within her first ten weeks on the trail. Lacore has been actively campaigning since initially announcing her candidacy, participating in forumscounty conventions, and hosting events— meeting voters where they are throughout the Lowcountry. Additionally, Lacore has earned national endorsements from The BenchEMILYs ListVoteVets, and New Politics
