MOUNT PLEASANT, SC — Tonight, Rear Admiral Nancy Lacore secured the most votes for Congress in South Carolina’s 1st District out of the seven candidates vying for the seat.

At her election night celebration in Mount Pleasant, Lacore thanked supporters, volunteers, and voters across the Lowcountry who helped power a grassroots campaign centered on service, accountability, and delivering results for South Carolina families.

“I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished in just over 4 months of campaigning,” said Lacore. “In that short amount of time, we’ve gathered so many volunteers and grassroots supporters. It’s been truly humbling. And most importantly, we’ve earned more votes than any other candidate. And that's because of you.”

Lacore launched her campaign earlier this year and raised over $1 million within her first ten weeks on the trail. After 35 years of service in the United States Navy, a career beginning as a helicopter pilot and ending as a three-star Admiral and Chief of Navy Reserve, Lacore was removed from her post by Pete Hegseth with no explanation. She decided to continue her service to our country in Congress.

“We need to restore financial freedom to Americans, so hard work results in stability and the opportunity to build wealth” Lacore continued. “We need to guarantee those who serve our country and our communities the freedom to live with dignity, and we need to protect the Lowcountry’s coastal environment.”
