The South Carolina general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Here’s what you need to make a plan to vote in SC-01.
Check your registration
Check your voter registration, find your Election Day polling place, and view your sample ballot. If you need to register or update your information, use the South Carolina Election Commission’s registration guide. The registration deadline is October 4. If you’re sending a paper form close to the deadline, check the state’s delivery and postmark instructions.
Early Voting: Monday, October 19 to Saturday, October 31
Vote at any early voting center in your county Monday through Saturday, 8:30am - 6pm. Voting centers are closed Sunday, October 25. Find your nearest early voting location HERE, and bring an accepted photo ID.
Vote on Election Day: November 3
Polls are open on Election Day from 7am - 7pm. If you’re in line by 7 p.m., stay in line! Find your assigned polling place before you go, and bring an accepted photo ID.
Vote absentee by mail
South Carolina offers absentee voting to voters who meet the state’s eligibility requirements. Contact your county election office to request an application. Your completed application must reach the office by 5 p.m. Friday, October 23.
Follow the instructions with your ballot, including signing the voter’s oath and having your signature witnessed. Your ballot must be received by 7 p.m. November 3. If you must mail your ballot, be sure to mail it 10-14 days before Election Day. If possible, drop your ballot at your county voter registration and elections office or at an early voting center in your county during early voting. Bring photo ID when returning your ballot in person.

What ID do you need?
Accepted photo IDs include a South Carolina driver’s license or DMV ID, a South Carolina voter registration card with photo, a federal military ID, a U.S. passport, and a South Carolina concealed weapons permit. See the full ID rules, including what to do if you don’t have one. If there’s an issue with your ID at the polls, ask a poll worker about a provisional ballot before you leave.
